Tips for healthy and long hair

There’s a saying that women’s beauty lies in her hair, the longer and richer her hair, the more it adds to her beauty. But our recent climatic changes, pollution and nutrition choices have made it impossible for the hair to grow longer. The outcome has left it looking dry and dull. However, we’ve got some stunning hair care tips to help you out.

  • Maintaining a balance between using too much and too little shampoo is the secret. You need a good amount of shampoo to eliminate all the dirt and excess oil that has been registered in your scalp. Using too little can leave your scalp looking oily and feeling itchy. On the other hand, using too much shampoo can deprive your scalp of its original essence or oil, making it extremely dry, leading to dandruff.
  • Be mindful of your hair wash days. If you’re someone who washes their hair once in 4-5 days, then we have found the problem. For hair growth, your scalp needs to be healthy and clean. The ideal hair wash routine should be every alternative day or once in 3 days maximum.
  • Condition your hair properly. Find a conditioner that best suits your hair and use it after every shampoo. Remember to use it only on the ends of your hair and not the scalp. Leave the conditioner on for 3-5 minutes for best results.
  •  Use hot oil treatment at least once a week. Massage your scalp gently for healthy follicles. Regular hot oil treatment will ensure the blood circulation is right and that in turn increases hair growth.
  • Keep your hair tangle-free. As much as it seems like a tough task, It could be a game changer for your hair growth. Detangling your hair everyday is a must and there are no compromises on this one. The best time to brush your hair is right after a hair wash. Ideally you should always brush your hair every morning and also before applying oil.
  • Use a good brush. Investing in a good brush is as important as investing in a shampoo or conditioner. Your hair secretes sebum through follicles and brushing your hair regularly will help the sebum distribute itself even to the ends, keeping the moisture intact.
  • A well known hair serum should always be in the routine. While some may disagree, A serum for your hair type can actually help the damage from happening further. Any hair serum works best when applied on wet or damp hair, preferably after hair wash. It is supposed to be applied on the ends of your hair.
  • Avoid applying heat to your hair. Try and dry your hair naturally for preventing from long term damage. In times of styling, never skip the heat protection spray.
  • Have regular intervals of hair trimming. This is so important and most people don’t realize it. Your hair needs to be trimmed once in every 6 months. The damaged ends need to be chopped off for fresh growth.
  • The last, and the most neglected tip is using a satin pillow case. The friction your normal pillow case causes can be harmful to your hair and can hinder the process of growth. Switch to a good quality satin pillow cover to keep your hair smooth and silky.
